  • Why am I always running out of hot water?

    This is a common complaint made by many homeowners. The reason you may be running out of hot water, often mid-shower, is because of a poorly functioning or old water heater. Over time, sediment can build up in your water heater, which can prevent it from working to its optimum level. This is why regular water heater maintenance is so important.

  • Why does my toilet keep clogging?
    A clogged toilet is a common plumbing issue for homeowners. If your toilet keeps clogging, the most obvious cause is when too much paper or solid objects are flushed, resulting in a blockage. However, other causes could be due to a broken flapper or fill valve, water pressure that's too high, worn-out flush valve seals, clogged sewer pipes, and even tree roots infiltrating the drain pipe. If your toilet frequently clogs, it's important to contact a professional plumber who can inspect the issue and determine the root cause of the problem.
  • The flow of my kitchen’s faucet is less than normal. Why is that?
    Poor water flow in a faucet is usually due to an aerator that has become clogged with calcium or sand. Try unscrewing the faucet head and cleaning it out with a brush. If that doesn’t work, we would be happy to fix it for you!
  • My garbage disposal smells bad. What can I do to get rid of the smell?
    We recommend that you place citrus peels (orange or lemon) in your garbage disposal, along with ice cubes, and let it run for 30 seconds. You can also add liquid dish washing soap while the garbage disposal is still going. After 30 seconds, let cold water run for a bit. This should do the trick!
  • Why does the water in my house look yellow?
    This is most likely due to the fact that your piping system is very old. Over time, rust can build up inside the pipes, which causes water to look yellow. We can carefully examine the state of your pipes and provide you with pipe replacement services.
  • How much do you charge for a dispatch?
    We charge $59 for a dispatch during normal business hours. After hours, we charge $89 for dispatch. We are always upfront about our pricing so that our customers always know what to expect from us. In addition, we offer financing to individuals who need immediate plumbing assistance but are worried about their financial situation.

    It started with Brock, a proficient, patient, helpful, thorough, and courteous representative of Smith’s Plumbing who arrived at scheduled time. With 3 bids on hand, after Brock responded to my questions on different brands of tankless, position of gas and water pipes, along with a competitive price, It was an EASY decision to have Smith’s Plumbing replacing my 2 tanks water heater with a Rinnai RSC 199 tankless! Respectful, pleasant, and skillful install crew, Cody and Eli along with roofer Scott, took great care to protect wood floor and extra careful with hauling equipment up and down the stairs. The tankless water heater was up and running prior to 5PM on the same day. Rest assured it was my first and surely not my last experience with Smith’s Plumbing as I am an extremely pleased customer!
